A retainer of the Tokugawa Clan and father of Mototada. As a chief retainer, he took temporaru control over governing Okazaki while Tokugawa Ieyasu was held hostage. In anticipation of Ieyasu’s return, he initiated austerity measures to grow the clan’s war funds.
